FAQs
The most noticeable difference is the finish. ProBond Luxe features a gorgeous, mirror-polished exterior that truly shines in the kitchen, while ProBond Forged has a brushed finish that’s a bit more forgiving for everyday wear. Luxe is designed for those who love a radiant, display-worthy look.
Like any polished surface, Luxe’s brilliant shine can show scratches more easily than the brushed Forged finish. That said, the beauty is worth it for many cooks, and with a little care, Luxe will keep its stunning appearance for years. If you prefer a tougher, lower-maintenance look, Forged may be a better fit.
Not quite! The NEW ProBond Luxe Polished Clad Stainless Steel collection has an innovative super fine satin-finished cooking surface. This meticulous process is done to create a smoother and less porous cooking surface, and actually makes it easier to cook with and clean compared to the brushed polished interior of ProBond Forged.
It’s a subtle upgrade that many home chefs will appreciate every day.
Great question! This upgrade was heavily requested by our customers.
ProBond Luxe features Hestan’s signature chef-inspired handle borrowed from our Commercial Clad cookware line—the handle was originally designed by Michelin three-star Chef Thomas Keller. It has a flatter angle for comfort, a vented heat hole that helps the handle stay cooler, and best of all, it eliminates the little crevice that can trap food around traditional handles, like the ProBond Forged handle.
It’s another small change that makes cooking and cleaning much easier.
Yes! Good observation!
ProBond Luxe seeks to create a new standard in luxury stainless steel cookware—so we wanted to offer the widest variety of vessels possible. The polished ProBond Luxe line includes an expanded assortment of pieces beyond what you’ll find in the Forged collection, including larger format Stock Pots, and Rondeaus.
Think specialty items like a butter warmer, large format rondeaus and our extra large stockpots —each finished in a pristine, jewelry polished finish.
Luxe gives you more choices to build your perfect cookware collection.
ProBond® Luxe™ looks a lot like NanoBond®—what’s the difference?
You’re right, they both have that brilliant, showstopping shine!
The difference comes down to the titanium technology. Let’s look at them side by side.
Origin:
Both NanoBond® and ProBond® Luxe™ were designed in Napa Valley, and handcrafted in our Italian factories.
Molecular Titanium Finish
NanoBond and ProBond Luxe have a similar tri-ply construction with 18/10 stainless steel as the interior/cooking surface and our exclusive aluminum ProCore™.
Where NanoBond differs is that the 18/10 stainless steel is further protected by thousands of molecular titanium nano-layers that create an incredibly durable and impermeable surface that is 400% harder than stainless steel and is ultra-smooth—almost glass-like—making it more stick resistant.
Luxe doesn’t have titanium, but it brings you the radiant look and upgraded features at a more accessible price. It’s the perfect choice for anyone who wants shine and performance without stepping all the way up to NanoBond.
It should be said that Hestan NanoBond is still the best stainless steel cookware that money can buy.
Cleaning & Care
NanoBond will still be the easiest to clean because it has no pores; the titanium completely seals the stainless steel pores. ProBond Luxe features a newly updated super fine satin-finished cooking surface and base that take extra steps in the finishing process resulting in less textures, less pores compared to ProBond Forged, so it's easier to clean than typical stainless steel. It's very similar in feel and appearance to OvenBond.
Innovative ProBond Luxe Features
There are other advantages that were added from our collections onto ProBond Luxe that aren’t included in the NanoBond line. From the Thomas Keller Commercial Clad collection we used the handle—a welcomed feature that we may see on the NanoBond line someday.
ProBond Luxe is a wonderful alternative for people who maybe just don't want to reach for Nanobond quite yet, but wish to add high performance and an illustrious shine to their kitchen.
