"As of 13/04/26 my review of this induction hob made in November 2025 is the only review. In that review I said this product was great but honestly all I’d done was time how quickly it boiled water compared to an electric hob. For that purpose it is far better. For day to day cooking, though? It’s a mixed bag. It wasn’t made clear when I was buying this that the app didn’t work and had in fact been retired. I was led to believe I could use the product with an app and be able to change the power through that. Nope. Instead you have to the godawful touch control function. If you want it on one. Great. If you want it on ten. No problem. You want to fine tune at some point in between those extremes? Good luck! I’ve not used a touch pad this insensitive since the mid nineties. Truly dire. It also heats wildly unevenly. Browning is sketchy. I have a temp gun and have done experiments and it’s bad. Sure, it could be the pans I’m using, but the pans I’m using are Hestan so either the hob is terrible or Hestan pans aren’t worth the money. (It’s not the pans, they’re beautiful). So yeah, after living with it for a while I do not recommend this at all. Sorry"

Great item, terrible app

"Saw this a couple of days ago for a bargain price of £99 plus a further Black Friday deal took it down to £80 which is a deal I just couldn’t slip by. Bought it on a Thursday evening and it arrived on a Saturday afternoon. Really can’t ask for anything better. Opening the box was a delight. Beautiful packaging and you know you’re opening something that has prestige behind it. I’d only ever unboxed a Hestan 8 inch nanobond prior to this which was also an event. You know you’re getting quality. On to the item itself. I read seven inch diameter induction zone so really wasn’t expecting it to be so big but that’s not a problem in itself. It just took me by surprise Reading the booklet made it seem like I had to download the app. Here’s the problem and the reason for the lost star - the app downloaded fine however I couldn’t create an account. I tried three different email addresses, tried to create an account using the use Apple feature and it just failed all of the time. Pushing the buttons on the hob did absolutely nothing and I feared I’d just bought a very expensive brick. Thankfully i found that by holding the power button down it then worked manually and I could use it “dumb”. The relief! Anyway. Did an experiment. 350 ml of water in two different 8 inch pans. One on the hestan induction hob and one on the electric hob I despise. The hestan got to a rolling boil in 2:10. The electric hob took nearly 6 minutes to get there, so really not even close. The reason I hate the electric hob is how unresponsive it is when reducing the heat. No issues with the Hestan with power changes happening instantaneously. TLDR: the app doesn’t work but the induction hob itself is great."
